Heroes is very nostalgic for me, so I really like it, even though I can acknowledge that's probably a mediocre game. The classic Genesis titles will always be great, and I even found the Adventure series to be an all-around good time. I've "enjoyed" a vast majority of the Sonic games. And even today, it's probably my most favorite of all the games, although it's very difficult to accurately compare 2D Sonic to 3D Sonic. It was really hard for me then, but I still like it. I have some pretty deep roots with the series, going back to when I first played Sonic 2 as a little kid. Because the downright awful fact of the matter is that anyone who's been a Sonic fan for a while now has come to almost expect a mediocre game. If the game sucks, I wouldn't be surprised. However, they're just as unquestionably justified in calling reviewers out for blaming the game for their own shortcomings. So, yes, there are without question fanboys overreacting to the situation. At least he didn't miss out on some glaringly obvious gameplay mechanic. I swear, watching the footage from his video review was more painful than watching Tom McShea's epic failage at Skyward Sword's Wii MotionPlus controls (another great example of a reviewer simply not knowing what the **** he was doing). It's essentially the boost mechanic that's been commonplace ever since Sonic Rush, just reworked a little bit. the thing that puts Sonic at his top speed.
